- What kind of test do I need to take & what if I fail the tests?
You must pass the written knowledge evaluation at the end of the classroom session and you must also pass the riding skill evaluation at the end of the riding range to graduate.
If you fail you can retake the written knowledge evaluation before the start of your riding range. If you fail your skill evaluation you can come back and retake it once within three months for free.
- What if I am under age of 18?
A parent or guardian must accompany you to the first days class in order to sign the registration forms, once the forms are signed he or she may leave.
- I loss my DL-389 certificate, how do I get another?
The DMV DL-389 certificate is a legal document strictly controlled by the State. Every single certificate is recorded by the California Motorcyclist Safety Program for the California Highway Patrol. Their rules for reissuing must be followed exactly.
a) First, be certain where and when you took the course. Only the school which issued the original can issue a replacement.
b) Second, fill out our Replacement DL-389 form
c) This form can be mailed in or delivered, please see below for address:
HAND DELIVERY: 350 College Ave Ste #100 Santa Rosa CA 95401
MAILING ONLY: SRMT 4751 Prospect Ave Santa Rosa CA 95409
The form needs to be completely fill out & sent with a self addressed, stamped envelope or it will NOT be processed.
- Can I have one on one training?
SR Motorcycle Training does offer 1-on-1 training, but it is in NO WAY associated with MSF or CMSP and you DO NOT get a DL-389. Private training is charged on an hourly basis. Please call the office for more information.
- Why doesn't your site fill up as quickly as others?
Our site is the largest in the area. We can hold more class sessions then other sites and therefore we have more seats open at one time.
